KB117: Recommendations for backing up XMLLink 3 files

Summary

The following is a description of the files we recommend creating backup versions of and a brief description of what the files contain.

For versions prior to 3.07.025:

  • XMLLink.DP , located in: C:\Program Files\Omnivex\XMLLink, contains DataPipe links.
  • XMLLink.INI, located in: C:\Program Files\Omnivex\XMLLink, contains all of the settings configured in the Options dialog box.

 

For version 3.07.025 and later:

KB165: You changed your desktop configuration and now you can't see some windows or dialogs

Symptom

You have removed your secondary monitor or changed your desktop layout using the Windows Display Properties and now some of your Omnivex program windows or dialog boxes no longer appear. It may appear as though your Omnivex program has frozen after clicking a button or menu option but the program is actually waiting for an off screen dialog to be closed.
