There is a current known issue in Omnivex Ink whereby changing the name of an App that is currently assigned to a Display will not change the name in the details panel for the Display.
Furthermore, the new name is not reflected in the content logs which may lead to inaccurate analysis of log files.
Until this bug is fixed, there is a work around to ensure that the correct name is reflected in both the details panel of the Display showcase as well as in the content log files.
Steps for workaround:
- Rename the App.
- Select the Display in the Display showcase that is running the App you have renamed.
- Re-assign the newly renamed App to the same Display (thereby updating the display document in the backend of Ink with the new name of the App).
- If the Display to which the App is assigned is running on the Ink driver, there will be backend calls in Ink to request the updated information which will result in the correct (new) name of the App being reflected both in the details panel of the Display showcase and in the content logs.
- Because the contents have already been loaded and playing on the Display, there is no re-downloading of the content to the display.
Note that simply purging the Display cache will not resolve the issue. This bug will be addressed in a future release of Ink but until such time as it is fixed, we suggest you use this work around to avoid any confusion or issues with content logs.
