KB373: How to Repoint Moxie Data Server to new SQL Server Location

If you want to move the SQL server location and point Moxie Data Server to the new SQL Server location, you can follow these steps.

 

  1. It is recommended that you first backup the current SQL database using SQL Server Management Studio.

     

  2. Once that is complete, you can restore the SQL database on the new SQL Server location.  

     

  3. In order to point Moxie to the new Server location, you will need to run the Omnivex Moxie Data Server Configuration wizard.

     

  4. Point Moxie to the new SQL Server by removing the old SQL Server name and replace it with the new SQL Server name and press the Create or Update Database button to confirm that Moxie is able to access the new SQL Server.
